What was the highlight of The Parliament House Hotel
Enjoyed the old world charm, the lovely, friendly staff and the location.
I appreciated a cooked breakfast, however, as a vegan it was a little disappointing. There was no vegan sausage, so my options were very limited.
Cable did not work.

Fantastic location...lovely hotel...old style but comfortable .
The receptionist who greeted us in the early hours on the 8th march wasn't very welcoming..I know everyone has a bad day as I work with the public myself ..I own a bed and breakfast in cork..but she(sorry I don't know her name)made zero effort...was actually quiet rude...and the 2 male porters the following 2 nights didn't even acknowledge us when we went to get our keys...they actually didn't even speak to us when we spoke to them...also when we went to leave our luggage there the rude receptionist jst said put it over there under a shelf...i asked her do we get a ticket to prove we put our luggage was there and to kerp it safe...and she abruptly said no...thats it!!!other than that experience the hotel is lovely with a lovely fire inside when u come in and it's so central...I would stay there again.

So good my husband and I have booked a room here for our next stay in Edinburgh. Super little hotel.
I loved that it has ye olde worldly vibes without being old fashioned…….lovely open fire in the reception area, large windows…..a key to get in the room instead of a keycard. It just felt so warm and cozy.
The view from our room wasn’t good. Looked out onto a bit of roof full of weeds.

What was the highlight of The Parliament House Hotel
Great location, comfortable room, very good breakfast in Edinburgh
The location was easy walking distance from the train station, next to Calter Hill, with short walks to the Royal Mile, shops, museums, parks, etc. We climbed Calter Hill and Arthur’s Seat, toured the castle, went to several museums, and visited the extensive botanical garden. We enjoyed returning to the hotel tucked into a quiet street with a fireplace in the reception room. (Even in May, a fire was welcome.) For breakfast, there was a choice of cooked food along with the continental breakfast spread, or cold food only. There is a recommended restaurant (Howi’s) within steps of the hotel, but it was booked when we checked. We found good casual food places a few blocks away on Rose St.
It wasn’t a problem for us, but the breakfast room is down a few steps.
